Bird Country US is dedicated to the conservation of all birds native to the continental United States through scientifically-valid research by both professionals and citizen-scientists, and education in avian biology, behavior, and ecology for all bird and nature enthusiasts, regardless of skill level. In addition to our educational activities, we are actively involved in research projects throughout the year so we can better understand birds and the roles that birders of all skill levels can take to further enhance that understanding. One of our main efforts, the Bird Country US Nestbox Program, is specifically designed so virtually anyone in the country can contribute to avian conservation efforts in their own area, even their backyard. To enhance your awareness of birds in your home state, we make available links to state checklists and Bird Records Committees. Whether it be through everyday observations, citizen science projects or scientifically-rigid studies, the conservation efforts of numerous agencies, organizations, and individuals, like you, are key to enhancing the conservation of birds no matter where you live.
