The focus of the 2011 event was "the forests and fields of the Brown County Hill Country." We had several outings to many different properties in the area. We visited federal lands, state lands, Nature Conservancy lands, and even private lands in our quest to get every one of our guests great looks and listens to as many birds as possible. We had one stop on Saturday morning at a small parking area in Yellowwood State Forest that yielded us 40 species from that one spot! It doesn't get any better than that. At other stops on the many outings, we added several more species as well, including every one of the nesting warbler species that one would expect to find in this area. The 2010 event tallied 84 species of birds for the weekend. The 2011 event also had 84 species. Here is our species list for the 2011 event.
